Numbers have been on the increase in February and we are looking like a solid footy club with training now stepping up a notch or two. The senior grades are training every Tuesday and Thursday at Greygums from 6:15 PM, The 19's on Wednesday and Thursday and the Ramettes on Mondays and Wednesdays. Players from all teams are reminded that they can join any of these sessions.
The coaching team have been very committed and enthusistic. New head coach Barry Denton along with assistant Andy Roberts have been working closely with reserves coach John Rix and thirds coach Kev Kirk in conjunction with the leadership group to lead the club to glory in 2014. Rick Allen is again taking the reins at the 19's with numbers picking up in this tight knit group whilst Jason Bradley and Wayne Burcher are again mentoring the Ramettes team. However, we are still on the lookout for team managers, runners and support staff for all teams.
It's been great to see the returning players along with new faces on the track. Welcome to interstate recruits Matt Laffan, Matt (2) (Both Victoria) Matt Ness, Chris Cunynghame (SA) along with Jackson Ireland (Port Macquarie/Bendigo). Also Tom and Andy Roberts (Nor-West), Malen Watson (Sydney Hills), Adrian Boelhouewer (Holroyd-Parramatta). A warm welcome to new Ramettes Simone, Jana and Magda.
The first trial match is looming quickly with a 25 man squad heading to Orange on Saturday Feb 22 to take on Central West 2013 Premiers, Orange Tigers. The team includes players from all three grades along with some Under 19's. A couple of spots are still avialble for the 11 AM match. The first club trial games will be held at Kelso Park on Sunday March 9 againsy Moorebank when all teams including 19's and Ramettes take on Moorebank Magpies. Times are TBA.
Registration fees are now due. See full details on this website. Players are reminded of the strict "No pay, no play" policy.
O'Donoghues Irish Pub at Emu Plains again is the club major sponsor and various functions are organised for OD's during the year. The club expects these events to be well patronised. Players are also encouraged to get to OD's and support our long time sponsor.
