The 2015 Inductees profiles for the current members stated…..
Frank Bates – The lean, angular Frank Bates was a wonderful player, coach and committeeman for the Noosa Tigers arriving at The Den in 1975. He played 225 games for the club, the majority of which were in the seniors including flags in ’75 and ’77. Also, he captained the reserves to a flag in 1980. Frank was a successful junior coach for six years and also was on the committee for four, along with being named Clubman of the Year in 1978. He was awarded life membership of the club in 1983. A name synonymous with the Noosa Football Club – Frank Bates.
Julian Pitts – Another of the likeable characters from the Noosa end of the coast. “Pittsy” has spent most of his footy career with the “Tiges” but was also involved at North Shore in a coaching capacity in their first year. He played over 140 senior games for the club as well as winning the leading goal kicker award on no less than four occasions. A dual premiership player, ne has also represented the League, held numerous coaching positions at the club and was voted a life member in 2013. On top of all that Julian was president in 2007 and has given more than 10 years of service to the club on committee. Today at club home games he hosts the Presidents pre game lunch and is quickly forging a career as the local “Mike Sheehan”.
Greg Gibbs – Has been a stalwart of the Noosa Tigers for more than 15 years in a plethora of roles including junior team manager, vice president, president, senior team manager, registrar, historian, and website coordinator. He was voted club person of the year in 2005 and inducted as a life member of the Tigers in 2011. Greg also played a key role in the establishment of the current first class clubhouse at The Den. A gentleman, who is also willing to support and help the development of the game on the coast.
