The 15/U girls had a “red hot go” against Rupo this week. With three players missing, everyone had to step up and play in positions they may not have played in before. This hurdle did not deter these strong willed girls who battled on and never gave up! The areas we need to improve in are strong leads in front of our player and rebounding in the goal ring. Although Rupo had a convincing win against us this time, we will be better prepared next time.
The 17/U girls played Melton South who had a very strong defensive end and goalers who used their bodies to muscle into front position. I was pleased to see strong leads from our girls and all players ran into space keeping the court open. We need to work on rebounding in the goal ring and working in front of our players at the defensive end. On the day Melton South proved to be too strong, however, I am looking forward to playing them later in the season because I think we are good enough to roll them.
