We make the trek tomorrow to Keysborough in a must-win game for our 1st XVIII football team. Whilst the Keysborough boys have little chance of playing finals footy this season, they will be keen to inflict a loss upon us as we ended their season last year when we defeated them in the final's series. And our boys are keen to reverse their ordinary form of recent weeks so get along to what promises to be a terrific game of community football.
Our 2nd XVIII were gallant in defeat last weekend playing against the top team of its competition and a win is not far away. With some key players returning to the team, I'm tipping our lads will knock up their 3rd win for the season and set up a big day for the Bears at Keysborough.
And congratulations to Alex McConnachie who plays game # 50 with the Bears tomorrow. |

Alex joined us in 2014 having not played Australian football before and has shown great commitment to his sport. He rarely misses a training session and his improvement as a player has been second to none in his time with club.Well done Alex - and I look forward to watching you play many more games for the Bears.
Our netballers head to the Springvale & District Netball Centre in Rowan Road, DIngley and 3 of our teams (Div 1, 3 & 4) also play Keysborough.
Our Div 1 team will be keen to notch up a win against the girls from 'Borough to gain a psychological advantage over their opponent as both teams are destined to meet in the first week of the finals series (which starts in 2 weeks time).
The Div 3 team need to win both of their last 2 matches of the season to have any hope of playing finals. They take on the 7th-placed Keysborough in a must-win game.
The Div 4 girls will not be able to make the finals' series but will be keen to finish the season strongly and upset their opponents finals aspirations.
Barby's Army (aka our Div 6 team) are 4th on their ladder and are the odd-ones in that they play Lyndale (not Keysborough). Lyndale sit one place ahead of our girls on the ladder and like our Div 1 team the girls will be keen to get a psychological advantage over their opponent on the eve of their finals series.
Games start at: 12noon 2nd XVIII Football Div 1 & 3 Netball 1.20pm Div 4 Netball 2.15pm 1st XVIII Football 2.40pm Div 6 Netball
Let's get out and support our teams - and remember to wear your club colours.
