Travelled down to Warringal Park to take on the reigning premiers in perfect football conditions. We kicked the first 2 goals and things looked promising but with the help of some errors they kicked the next 5. The rest of the game we matched it with our opponents and kicking the 1st goal in the last quarter the margin was only 11 points. The final margin did not reflect the effort but we need to be committed for the full 100 minutes of the game. Good efforts from Jake again and Luke and Corey up from the 19s. Nothing can stop the Sultan after the 2s first win on tiger turf for a while with Sando and Gos amongst the best. The 19s got jumped early and ran out of time to take the points.
This week we travel to Thomastown for the first time and look forward to 3 competitive games. The last time I was at Main St Mongrel took a classic catch on the boundary to win the game.

Around The Traps The goal posts seemed to have grown at Warringal Park but what about the goal square. Tommy O’Neill burst out of defence and had 3 bounces before he reached the line. Homicide will be back on the drink tonite and that cant be good. A few of our members need to get down to training and understand what the coaching staff are trying to achieve in developing a game plan that suits our players before voicing their opinions. Anyone looking to be picked up after a few drinks please contact Rod “the victim” King, very reliable service testimonials from Di, Liz, Donna, Heather & Pauline. The Secretary certainly enjoyed the extra 5 minutes at half time downing an extra ale or 2. The sea of blue at half time and after match was impressive shirts and jackets are still available from Dooga for $35 & $50 respectively.
