Once again bad kicking cost a chance to knock off a finals contender, when the game was up for grabs we kicked 4 points in a row before Mont replied with 4 goals. The 2s were deadset robbed in the dying minutes. The 19s were also in the match before fading in the last qtr. The Best Player Ticket went to “Ruth’s Bro” Billy Morrison. This week it’s Thomastown at the Lake Oval for the first time.
The next function is the Mystery Night next week after the North Heidelberg game and yes it is still a mystery but should be a good night to relax and have a few beers with everyone.
Presentation Night has been booked at The Darebin RSL on the last Friday in September 25th. Tickets are now on sale so see Kate or Dooga to book tickets.
Around The Traps. Kev Hardy likes to welcome all who venture into Moore Park; Kev had his boom gate out when he saw Buster near the Coach’s Box. Bomba’s Krew is gaining numbers with another initiation last Friday. Rodgo rang his missus to pick him up from the Stolberg last Friday but on her arrival he was already tucked in bed at home. This is why they invented light beer.
Past Players, Committee, Volunteers are all urged to get down to the club on Saturday August 15th to watch the Eltham game. It would be great to see all the former greats having a chat and catching up on old memories.
Juniors The final home and away game for the year is on tomorrow before heading back to the rooms for the season wrap compered by none other than the magnificent Alan Weston. I’ve always thought the Tour De France was a long race but I don’t think they went to the moon Wagon. A great day was had last week at the Luncheon with a huge crowd in attendance and a truly magnificent speaker in Kevin Murray who signed anything in sight, had photos taken with every youngster in the place and a few oldies. Don’t forget their end of season raffle tickets are on sale now to be drawn after the last home and away game Sunday August 2nd. The Junior presentation night is on Saturday Sept. 12th so it would be great to see the seniors down for a look and see the marathon day.
Lakeside Netballers had a Bye last week and were back on the court last night vying for a spot in the finals.
