FALLEN AFL star Brendan Fevola kicked 18 goals at the weekend, but he couldn't top Greta's Brad Bell.
While Fev was starring in a one-off appearance for Tasmanian club New Norfolk, Bell was on his way to booting 22 majors for Greta in the Ovens and King league.
The Blues piled on a league record 56.16 (352) to put Glenrowan to the sword by 345 points. Bell had nine straight goals before hitting the post in the second quarter, one of just four misses for the afternoon.
His massive haul was also a club record at Greta - the previous best was 13.
Bell's partner up forward, Chris O'Connor, also beat the record with 14 majors of his own.
Blues president David Newth said the team had stuck to team-first football despite the crowd willing the ball be directed to Bell.
"We played two forwards deep as we do most weeks and after they (Glenrowan) tried to block it up a bit we had to often look to someone else who was spare," Newth said.
"Brad is only about six foot three or four but is really quick on the lead and a very accurate kick at goal."
And in what looms as a question for club historians, Newth said Greta actually had Bell down as kicking 23 goals.
Either way, it's a tally that is going to take some beating.
