Woori Yallock Football Club
Held in the Memorial Hall last Friday, the annual ball of the Woori Yallock Football Club was a great success, attracting a full house, in which were representatives from each club in the Yarra Valley Association. The hall was delightfully decorated with streamers of black and gold, in an original design prepared by Mrs. Valentine and executed by the ladles, who left no stoneunturned in perfecting the arrangements. They must have been well pleased with their work as, although the colors did not lend themselves to gaiety, the manner of their arrangement removed all suggestion of sombreness and imparted a really festive air, admirably set off by a
background of palms and ferns adorning the stage. Miss Sebire's orchestra rendered all that could be desired in the way of music, and the happy faces of the dancers showed that they were enjoying every moment to the full. Visitors commenced to arrive early, and by nineo'clock there was a good muster of cars outside. which had brought people from a distance. When the merriment was at its height the scene was very gay indeed.
During the supper interval the gold medal awarded by Mr. Flahavinfor the best and fairest player in the association was presented to the winner, W. ("Chappie''") Teese, of the Woorl Yallock team, by Mr. N. Burrows, who accompanied tee presentation by a few congratulatory remarks. "Chap," in reply, said he was very proud to have won the medal, but next year hoped that Woori Yallock would secure the premiership. Dancing continued until the small hours. During the evening the novelty events decided resulted as follow: Spot dance, Miss Dell and Mr. T. Dennehy; color dance, Miss Lydster and Mr. A. Murray; lucky cap, Miss Brice and Mr. H. Hunter. A supper dish auctioned was won by Miss Naida Smith, of Woori Yallock.
