The match was played at Warburton in perfect spring weather, with the ground in excellent condition, so that, with players in tip top form, everything pointed to a good game that was expected to draw a big crowd.
The crowd was there, practically lining the fence all-round, and gate takings reached the very encouraging figure of £86.
As they took the field, accompanied by their diminutive mascots wearing full football kit, they looked two
well-balanced sides, Healesville, if anything, having a slight advantage in weight.
These were the sides:
Woori Yallock: E. Hunter (captain), H. and W. Jacquier, W. Robertson, T. Staff, J., D., and W. Richards,
G. Lorimer, M. Wilson, K. Ockwell, N. Spicer, G. Leonard, S. Rundell, B.Ablett, W. Eaton, A. Hunter, T. Hutchinson, 19th man, R. Jacquier.
Healesville: E. Andrews (captain), W. Christie, W. Taylor, G. Cochrane, C. Love, W. and A. Plozza, F. Hunter,
E. Leale, R. Richards, R. Chandler, O. Partridge, T. Ayres, J. Pollard, G.Peters, R. Bates, B. Thomas, C.Thorpe, 19th man, K. Bates.
Healesville's showing was rather surprising. In only one quarter of the game - the second - did they show superiority, and that was when they had the disadvantage of facing the slope, such as it is. In the final term, with conditions the same, they again sparked up, but Woori thenhad established a commanding lead, so their prospects of victory were at no time seriously threatened.
WOORI YALLOCK: 14 goals, 10 behinds - 103 points.
HEALESVILLE: 10 goals, 11 behinds - 71 points.
Goal-getters for Woori Yallock were: Eaton, 5: Richards and Leonard, 2 each; Hutchinson, Ablett, A. Hunter, Spicer and Rundell.
Most active players were: Leonard, H. Jacquier, Lorimer, Rundell, Eaton, Hunter and Hutchinson.
For Healesville: Love, 4; Bates, 2; Taylor, W. Plozza, Ayres and Thomas; with Christie,. Taylor, Chandler, ates,
