At Warburton last Saturday, a record crowd of nearly 1,500 people saw Woori Yallock make a second half
recovery, and in a thrilling final quarter, administer the coup de grace to Healesville, to win the Yarra Valley
Football premiership for 1947. It seems fairly safe to say that this is the first time Woori has gained the honor,
although there is some uncertainty on the point, as the Tigers have figured in the, final four on several occasions.
Ground and weather were good, a equally wind in the morning was hardly noticeable during the game, which,
was packed with thrills, the crowd clamorous from the start, spurring on their favorites or voicing their reproach in an almost continuous roar.
All around the arena there was nota single gap among spectators, a large percentage of whom were women,
whose -many-hued frocks, and the background of cars and trucks, many of them decorated, made the scene
as gay and colorful as a fancy dress ball.
Gate takings were £132, and from the uncertainty, the suspense, as hopes and fears alternated, especially
towards the end of the game, everyone had good value for his money.
Woorl were the first in the field, and posed while about half a dozen young women clicked their cameras and took mementos of the occasion.
The team was little different from that which defeated Healesville a fortnight ago.

Towards the end of the openlng quarter, an unfortunate accident happened. While going for the ball, Robertson of Woori Yallock, and a Healesville player made contact and both fell heavily.
