ZEBRAS CAP OFF CHANCES

AS REPORTED IN THE BENDIGO ADVERTISER.
LAST SATURDAYS HOME CATCH UP GAME V FC BENDIGO

MORELAND Zebras capitalised on limited chances to score a 2-0 victory against FC Bendigo in Saturday's catch-up round in the National Premier League Victoria division one season.

Bendigo did the majority of attacking throughout the first half on the Zebras' turf.

A header by Josh Romein and strike by FC Bendigo captain Trent Waterson were wide of the target.

Despite missing those chances, the Bendigo defence did not concede in the opening 45 minutes.

The deadlock was broken in the 57th minute when Danilo Bonilla-Ospina volleyed his first goal for Moreland.

About 20 minutes later the Zebras counter-attacked from which Daniel Sweeney struck to make it two-nil.

FC Bendigo playing coach Steve Martin said the result was the story of the team's season.

"We created enough chances of our own, but could not score.

"Moreland did not have many opportunities to score, but they did strike twice."

Now the focus is on Tuesday night's clash between FC Bendigo and Melbourne City at Epsom-Huntly Reserve.

"It's an exciting time for soccer in this region and our great opportunity for our club," Martin said.
