The Power have made the finals after all the results fell into place as they jumped from 8th to 6th after they defeated the third placed Brock Burrum Saints by 35 points at Coreen.
In front of a large crowd the Power look switched on with Corey Smith kicking the first goal, but when the Power lost a player through being sent off, the Saints goaled to level the scores. From there the Power dug deep and with Josh Lewis winning plenty of ball in the middle and with Nathan Rhodes using his pace the Power was able to kicked the next three goals to take a 20 point lead at quarter time.
The second quarter was a real grind with Tim Cooper & Sean Hanrahan defending well and with Brad Talbot tireless in the centre only two goals were kicked for the quarter, both to the Saints as they drew within 9 points by half time.
The third quarter started with the Saints on fire as they kicked 3 quick goals to lead by 8 points, and it looked if the game was getting out of the Power’s control. But through Joel Rippingale, Lewis & Talbot the Power started to regain control in the midfield and the side was rewarded with a great team goal to Sam Burdon and with 3 other goals the Power was able to get their lead out to 15 points by the last change.
Two misses by the Saints early in the quarter gave the Power the belief as they kicked the last 3 goals of the game as the margin got out to 35 points by the end of the game.
Tyson Burdon and Alex Wallis provided great targets up forward as the Power ran out 11.16 to 6.11 winners.
With Lockhart & Jindera both losing this meant the Power with play the Saints again this Saturday in an Elimination Final at Walbundrie beginning at 2.10pm.

The Reserves season came to end when it went down by 90 points to the second placed Saints.
A few of the old boys came out of retirement to help with the numbers but the boys came up against a well drilled side that extended their lead at every change.
Nathan Allan was terrific around the ground, while Aaron Ray rebounded off half back well. Chris Pringle and Nic Nagle gave their all for the Power while Matthew Butts and Shay Rhodes had their moments but the Saints were too strong as they ran out 17.6 to 2.6 winners

The Thirds had their 14th win for the season with a good 50 point win.
The Saints took it right up to the Power in the first half as the Power only lead by 10 points. Matthew walker was providing a marking target up forward with 4 of the 5 goals while Jordan Lavis was good down back.
The Power hit their straps in the third quarter as they kicked 6 goals to 1 to lead by 40 points by the last change. Tim Heagney was superb in the ruck while Keb Hanlon and Luke McKaskill were good down back.
Walker continued his good form to finish with 7 goals while Andrew Phibbs and Will Johnston were in everything as the Power ran out 14.2 to 5.6 winners.
This sees the side finish in 4th spot and take on Murray Magpies next Sunday at 10am at Walbundrie in an Elimination Final.

The Fourths finished the home & away season with their 18th victory with a 55 point win over the Saints.
The Power was on early with Matthew Walker, Cam Dutton, Jimmy Hanrahan & Cam Wilson playing well as the Power skipped out to 51 points by half time.
The younger players got time in the second half with James Heagney, Matt McDonad, Deaklen Yates playing well while Mac McFarland & Taylor Baker played well as the Power ran out 9.10 to 1.3 winners.
The team now has next weekend off before playing Holbrook on Saturday 6th September at 8.45.

Netball
A Grade has suffered a 13 goal defeat to the side they are going to play next weekend in the finals.
The girls used the game as preparation for this Saturday’s Elimination with Rosie Dye playing well as Goal Shooter and Tam Lavis was tireless in centre court as the Power went down 49 to 62.
The girls again take on Brock-Burrum this week in an Elimination Final on Saturday.

B Grade came up against a very polished team in Brock Burrum. The girls set a team goal this week and where very pleased to make it in a good team effort. Bip Hanrahan and Tess O’Donoghue tried hard as the girls went down 20 to 78.

C Grade put in a fantastic four quarter effort pushing the 5th placed Saints to the final whistle. Vanessa Tait was good in attack, while Danielle Dalrymple gave her all in mid court as the Power went down 24 to 33.

C Reserve came up a very strong Brock Burrum side and went down by 19 goals. Chelsea Ferwerda stepped up from the Under 16’s to have a very good game while Natalie Walker played well but the Saints were to strong winning 54 to 35.

The 16 and Under had a great last game with a few of the Under 14’s coming up and having a run before they start next season. Nikita Bainbridge and Ellie Brewster gave their all for the Power but the Saints were too good winning 51 to 11.

The 14 and Under girls put in a great effort in their last game. Second half showed lots of defensive pressure. Was a great effort which showed their huge improvement for the season, Alarna Sagum and Megan Aitken played well in the 28 to 9 lost.

The 12 and Under had a thrilling 2 goal victory, 12 to 10 which has them finishing in 5th spot and a spot in the finals. It was a must win game to keep the finals hopes alive and the girls didn’t disappoint. It was a brilliant team effort with all the girls proving they deserve their finals spot. Well Done!! The girls play on Sunday at Walbundrie.
