The grant of $1,000 will go towards a new set of jumpers for the Club’s senior women’s program regarded as one of successful women’s programs in the ACT having won eight out of the 18 premierships since the AFL Canberra competition introduction in 1998 and currently sits on top of the ladder in 2016.
The Volkswagen Grassroots Grants Program opened earlier this year with myriad clubs from all across the country entering the competition.
Eastlake was chosen as one of ten winners to share in $10,000 as the grant will be used to great effect by the Club.
“From a Club perspective these types of grants continue to assist community club’s Australia wide and we obviously thank the Sydney Swans and Volkswagen for selecting us in this year’s round of grants” said Football Manager Stephen Soulsby.
