Perfect sunny conditions were on hand Saturday as the Fiona Winter Realty Noosa Tigers took on Sunshine Coast rivals Nambour at Weyba Road. Noosa made three changes from last week, Jack Tickner, Tom Keehan and Jesse Malthouse came back in with Jake Fulton and Tom Robilliard going back to the reserves and Shane Davis to serve a one week suspension.
The first quarter got off to a flying start as Harry Opie ran the length on the ground to link up with a Dylan Murray kick, then to run into an open goal only to miss to the right. Minutes later Brett Duke opened the account for the Tigers with a crumbing goal followed by a James Gellie goal to give Noosa full control of the game. The Tigers slammed on another 4 goals in the quarter and held Nambour scoreless to go into the quarter time break with big 39 point lead. Noosa 6-3-39 to Nambour no score.
The second quarter was a mirror image of the first as the Tigers pressure on the ball carrier was enormous. Peter Trompf was working hard across half forward, Gellie was in everything and courteous of a 50 metre penalty, Gellie kicked his 3rd. Ryley Buntain continued his great form down back and Tom McKittrick was getting every stoppage clearance and was rewarded with a long goal from 50 half way through the term. Jack Hendrie and Sam Dwyer worked hard in the quarter as Noosa finished the quarter with another 6 goals as well well as holding Nambour goalless. At the half time break Noosa held a big 79 point lead. Noosa 12-10-82 to Nambour 0-3-3.
James Gellie kicked his seventh goal with Noosa's first in the third quarter as the Tigers kept the pressure on Nambour. Nathan Winter played his role with perfection in the forward line and he was in every pack and contest. Cubby Isles was outstanding again and Jack Tickner lifted his work rate as Noosa slammed on 11 goals; once again keeping Nambour goal less. Heading in to 3/4 time the Tigers led by 147 points. Noosa 23-13-147 to Nambour 0-4-4.
The final quarter played itself out and Noosa slammed on 9 goals. Gary Wallace was strong in the packs, Dylan Dempsey worked hard all day. The good thing was Noosa stuck to its structure and finished the game off strong. Noosa slotted home another 9 goals for the quarter When the siren sounded Gellie kicked his 12th and Noosa won by 201 points. Noosa 32-19-211 Defeated Nambour 1-4-10

The reserves had a massive 180 point win in the early game. Kane Grace was best on ground and finished the day with 8 goals. Max Paterson and Alex Corrigan were also good all day. Noosa 27-19-181 to Nambour 0-1-1
Next week the P J Burns Noosa Tigers have a week off then we travel to Kedron to take on third placed Kedron. This game will certainly have a huge impact on the final make up of the final five. Both teams will be looking for a win and a cement a double chance in the finals.
