Noosa wounded but victorious.
The Roccoco Bistro Noosa Tigers produced one the finest home and away victories in the past 3 years to defeat back to back defending premiers Mayne in Brisbane last Saturday.
Noosa has lost the last 8 games to their city based Tiger rivals and whilst the victory was sweet it came at a cost with key Noosa boys Liam Hoy and Cain Tickner suffering serious shoulder injuries and champion veteran Bushy Copeland also requiring heavy medical treatment on Saturday afternoon.
2016 senior coach Sam Faure said he was stoked to have a first up win ..."especially against quality opposition"... but reiterated that the Tigers have plenty to work on.
New recruits, Liam Hoy onballer , Joel Lambourn on the last line of defence and big Jarrod Westell, 4 goals, were more than instrumental in the Noosa 20 point victory.
Reigning club best and fairest Nick Hill was in everything early for the Noosa side whilst Nick Sutton, 3 goals late in the game, were telling contributors also. Local boys Jack Tickner and Jai Fitzpatrick were also outstanding all day for Noosa. The latter just showcasing his exquisite skill and poise throughout the entire game after coming off a terrific pre season.
Obviously a few changes will be made on Thursday with our injury concerns before facing a much improved Aspley in Brisbane on Saturday afternoon from 2 pm.
Great first up win to excite the Roccoco Bistro Tiger faithful see you there Saturday
