The Rococo Bistro Noosa Tigers opened with relentless pressure and a willingness to involve everyone as they jumped out of the box against Moreton Bay at Caboolture last Saturday. In fact it was the teamwork of a very young and inexperienced senior Tigers side that came to the fire on a day where atmosphere was almost invisible. The game was won in the middle where once again co-captain and 2015 club champion Nick Hill was just outstanding. He was ably assisted by Brent “Beema” Moloney and young Corey Boardman who both continue their consistent seasons.
Hill amassed a game high 38 possessions, his fifth consecutive over 30 plus game in a row. The bloke he beat in last year’s best and fairest, Robbie “Bushy” Copeland was equally as good in the 10 goal plus win as he continually defence into attack and kept the ball always going the Tigers way. His attack on the footy and focus on the job at hand is evident every time he takes the field. Another superb game from him.
Copeland was very well supported by full back Jed Mullen who was terrific all day in his first senior game for 2016. Nick Sutton was good for the most part with his aggression and ball gathering whilst big Jarrod Westell up forward bagged four goals in a very strong performance.
With players of the ilk of Davis, Isles, the Tickner Brothers, Fitzpatrick and Lambourn to come back into the side in coming weeks all looks pretty exciting for the Rococo Bistro Noosa Tigers as they begin their tilt at 2016 glory.
A bye this week due to representative footy as we congratulate and wish Brent “Beema” Moloney, Robbie “Bushy Copeland and Joel Lambourn from Noosa who will represent South Queensland in Cairns this Saturday night.
And then of course a massive day at Weyba Rd on July 23rd as the 3rd placed Tigers take on ladder leader and flag favourites, Maroochydore, coinciding with our Past Players Day, Ladies Lunch and Legends game. This will be one not to miss!!
See you there. Go Tigers. Cheers Pittsy

RESERVES
A solid win from the boys after we got off to a slow start. We lost two players by half time with injury. Just like the week before, guys were trying to come off for a rest but we just didn’t have the numbers to replace them.
Zac Smith was back this week and a clear stand out. He was everywhere while the Michael “Big Squid” Bidois was exciting up forward.
In the second half we started to get going. Lou Fary, in his second game back, looked very dangerous down forward; he will be vital for us at the end of the season. Scotty “PI Magnum” Wagner was outstanding again at fullback while Dylan Murray speed was on show all day.
After missing eight weeks with a shoulder it was fantastic to see Jordan “Pottsy” Potts get through his first game back. Young Angus “Gus Bus” Johnston from the under 19’s helped us out along with Tommy Keehan. Bus took a nice mark and slotted it straight through in the second half.
We move forward with a bye this week then four weeks left until the finals. Fingers crossed we stay injury free and can put our best side on the field. After the bye we have competition leaders Maroochydore who are yet to taste defeat.
Bring it on!! Danny
