The Rococo Bistro Noosa Tigers face a "must win" game to prevent losing the chance of a home final when they play the third placed Caloundra at Caloundra this Saturday. And, whilst the double chance is now out of reach, the boys from Weyba Road know the importance a home final brings in late August.
I’m sure that senior coach Sammy Faure will be focussing on goal kicking during training this week after scoring inaccuracy cost the home side a win at Noosaville last Saturday. No one at the ground could blame effort courage or commitment as the young Noosa Tigers dominated the back to back Premiers for 70 percent of the day only to let it slip in front of the big sticks; such an important football statistic.
Our boys know that the competition is close and a sustained effort across the board could see any of the top four sides take out the QFA North trophy. Finishing third of course would help. The Tigers were best served by champions Bushy Copeland and co skipper Nick Hill last Saturday as these two continue to dominate this competition. Copeland’s kamikaze like approach to the contest is unreal to watch and Hills on balling skill, possession gathering and goal kicking in the last half almost getting the Tigers over the line.
Recruit Joel Lambourn continued his terrific season nullifying Mayne’s gun forward Fawkner. Veteran Tiger Garry Wallace was prevalent the entire day in defence whilst youngsters Boardman, Haines and Tarling were once agian impressive.
A great day was had by all as we celebrated our final presidents lunch for 2016 which coincided with our accommodation auction ,also an amazing success. A big thank you once again to our funny guest speaker John Elliot and of course all those that continue to make these events happen.
I must also say that the half time special needs game was just a pleasure to watch with a big thank you to Sunshine Butterflies and Football Operations Manager Rob Purves for their continuing efforts in promoting the best code of footy to everyone.
See you at Caloundra on Saturday. It will be a cracker.
Cheers Pittsy

RESERVES
Saturdays game was so ugly it was like we were just waiting for it to happen.
Our back six were unbelievable again. I don’t think I’ve seen a back six as good as this one in reserves footy ever. Down the other end, full forward “Sebalicious” was strong over head.
Our skills were atrocious by foot. On such a bad day for us there were positives; senior player Cain Tickner played his first game after missing most of the year. Another positive was that four or five players got another full game under their belts and, with two games to go, a couple more players coming back from injury this week should strengthen our side hugely.
The good thing about next Saturday is that we can’t play any worse than we did against Mayne.
Full steam ahead for us now! Bring on Caloundra this Saturday!! Danny
