The Rococo Bistro Noosa Tigers went down to a very well structured Caloundra last week by 27 points to surrender any chance of more senior footy being played at Weyba Rd in 2016.
The 27 point loss was made worse when gun Victorian recruit Joel Lambourn was taken off with a serious ankle injury late in the game; yet another key Tiger whose season ends to a body breakdown. In fact this writer had never seen such a long list of key personnel breaking down in the same year with names like Hoy, Tickner, Fitzpatrick, Isles, Davis, and now Lambourn, all among the Noosa sides top ten players to have missed many games or, in most cases, the season due to injury.
And I know, as Australians and in particular at Tigerland, we had to use excuses but at this time of the year the side with the more healthy list generally goes on to bigger and better things especially when it's quality players. However 2016 is not at all over with an away game against Aspley this Saturday to finish off the home and away fixtures before a likely knock out final vs Caloundra at Caloundra the following week. And with the likes of Moloney, Hill and Copeland again in superb touch added with the premiership experience of Duke, McKittrick, Smith, Faure and Wallace anything is still possible.
Speaking of Gary Wallace, what a magnificent achievement in reaching 200 senior games at the Noosa Tigers last weekend and I can assure you there haven't been many bad ones. The fast, skilful and tenacious 2010 premiership player has just been an outstanding servant to our footy club. Yours truly had the pleasure of coaching Gazza for 3 years at under 18 level including a very memorable state league flag in 2002 that wouldn't have happened without his input as a player. Always a big game player so expect Gazza to be up and about come finals. Well done Gazza!
Congratulations to Caloundra who took home the Wayne Dover Shield in memory of ex Noosa senior premiership player and Caloundra senior coach who shared many friendships across both clubs.
Never write the Tigers off. See you at the footy Cheers Pittsy.

RESERVES
After watching video footage through the week we came in to the Caloundra game very focused on what was required. For our group to improve we have to be at our team best every week. To get results like we did on Saturday. Our first quarter was almost a carbon copy of the game last week against Mayne; the only difference being that we kicked goals instead of behinds.
The bash brothers (Jaman Warren and Tom “Sniffa” Hedley) in the midfield were at the best hunting the ball. The second quarter followed on in similar fashion. Dylan Murray is yet to play a bad game alongside fullback Scotty “PI Magnum” Wagner.
In the third Scotty Miller up forward was running loose. He booted 7 for the day while league leading goal kicker Seb “Sebalicious” Clift snagged 3. The last quarter saw most players backing except for midfielder Jordan “Pottsy” Potts; he was going strong to the end.
It looks like the Seniors will get a few back this week which will only strengthen our group. With one game to go for the home and away season, versus Aspley, there is heaps to play for this Saturday. Our full forward “Sebalicious” needs a couple goals to keep the QFA (North) Reserves leading goal kicker and our back line needs to stop the second placed goal kicker who plays for Aspley. Should be a cracker game.
A big win could see us finish second, on percentage, which would mean having a second chance (if needed).
Can’t wait!! Massive day against Aspley this Saturday!! Cheers Danny
