Passing of John Bell

John Bell (born 1938 Glasgow) and former football player for St Johnstone and Raith Rovers in Scotland played with Juventus from 1965 to 1968 when he retired from football and returned to Scotland.  At St Johnstone he was in a team managed by Bobby Brown who went on to manage the Scotland Team up to 1971 and was a team-mate and good personal friend of Sir Alex Ferguson who subsequently managed Manchester United.  He really loved his time in Australia, both playing football and living in a brave new fresh world that was Melbourne at that time.

John unfortunately died suddenly on 30 January 2016, around a month after the sad passing of his wife June in December 2015.  He is survived by his children and grandchildren.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
